Description	:	William R. Schult age 91, of Fredericksburg, Iowa died Wednesday September 25, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013, at the Peace United Church of Christ, Fredericksburg with Pastor Burt Williams presiding. Carlee Buhman will be the pianist with Holly Schult as violinist and Roger Hucke, vocalist. Yvonne Lienau will also be the organist. Steege, Luke Steege, Todd Hilmer, Mike Hilmer, Andrew Schult, Mick Kane, Chris Kane, Blaine Schult and Jacob Schult serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Amber Schult, Carlee Buhman, Lynnette Stecklein, Jodie Schult, Darcy Fair, Allison Anderson, Tracy Elliott and Holly Schult. The Lawler American Legion, Harold Redman Post #279 will present full military honors. Friends may greet the family 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Hugeback – Johnson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church. 563-237-6212 William "Bill" Schult was born July 16, 1922, and raised on the family farm near Westgate, Iowa. He was the son of William J. Schult and Emma (Pipho) Schult. He went to country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Maynard High School in 1940. He served in the US Navy during the WWII as a Hospital Apprentice first class. Bill thoroughly enjoyed his Honor Flight to the WWII Memorial two years ago. Bill met the love of his life, Marjorie Binning, at a dance in Sumner, Iowa. Bill and Marge were married September 27, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri. They had seven children, Bill, Jack, Mike, Karen, Sharon, Barb and Rick. Bill worked several jobs early in his life including having his own milk hauling business. His ultimate goal was to farm. He and his family farmed several farms in NE Iowa and moved to a farm near Fredericksburg in 1962. In addition to farming, Bill worked as a maintenance welder at John Deere for 24 years. He was recognized many times for his money saving suggestions at John Deere. Bill retired from farming in 1966 and moved his family into Fredericksburg. He and Marge owned and operated the Schult Café and later Bill's Pub. He always put his family first. They were his number one concern. Even though money was short and times were tough, he made sure there was always Christmas gifts under the tree for his kids. Bill especially loved sharing time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They all looked forward to seeing him, as he would always find ways to make each of them laugh. Bill enjoyed their trailer and time spent with family and fishing on the Mississippi River in Prairie Du Chen, Wisconsin. Bill loved to garden and he could take anything apart, put it back together again and it would work. He played a great game Euchre and enjoyed golfing with his sons and friends at the Plum Creek Golf Course. In his later years Bill was devoted to caring for the Love of his life. He was an inspiration to all those who knew him for his commitment to keeping them in their home for as long as he could. Bill is survived by his wife, Marge, son Bill (Joyce) Schult of Eagan, MN, son Jack (Marcia) Schult of Fredericksburg, Iowa; Daughter-in-law Linda Schult of Denver, Iowa; daughter Karen (Ted) Steege of Fredericksburg, Iowa, daughter Sharon (Bob) Hilmer of Winfield, Iowa; daughter Barb (Ron) Kane of Fredericksburg, Iowa and son Rick (Deb) Schult of Ackley, Iowa; 22 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Schult and grandsons Brady Schult and Rickey Kane.
