Description	:	He was a son of Mae and Hoyt Hyman. Mr. Hyman joined the U.S. Army in 1953 and was an outstanding soldier earning many awards and Letters of Commendation. He served in Korea, Okinawa, Germany, the Panama Canal Zone, and Vietnam. He retired as a Command Sergeant Major in 1975 after 21 ½ years of service. After retiring he worked for the Kershaw County Sheriffs Department and Wolfe Mechanical in Lugoff where he retired once again. He was a member of the American Legion Post 182 where he was a past Commander; Lugoff Elgin Masonic Lodge 411 where he was a past Master; Order of the Eastern Star Leslie Zemp OES #111. He also was Elgin's Citizen of the Year in 1996. Mr. Hyman gave of himself to his community and its people.
