Description	:	William R. “Bill” Freeman, 66, of Billings passed away at his home early Monday morning, Sept. 22, 2014. Bill was born on Nov. 7, 1947, in Olympia, Wash., a son of William N. and Mary Jane (Youst) Freeman. In 1966, at the age of 19, he joined the Army, serving in Vietnam and continuing his military service for 24 years, retiring in 1990, at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norman Freeman. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Smith Downtown Chapel. Military honors and placement of the urn will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Yellowstone National Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at smithfuneralchapels.com.
