Description	:	William Ray Boop, 63, died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday in his home at 1504 Garland-av after an illness of five months. Mr. Boop, a carpenter, was born May 17, 1887, in Lima and was a lifetime resident of this community. He was a member of the South Side Church of Christ. Surviving are his widow, Eva May; three sons, Burlin Ray, Route 2, William Ray Jr., 2111 St. Johns-rd, Roger E., 1502 Garland-av; two daughters, Mrs. Eva R. Shaner, 1503 Garland-av, Mrs. Lela Hughes, 1615 Zeitz-av; his mother, Mrs. Sarah B. Boop, 1800 Garland-av; two brothers, Alva Z., Route 6; Melvin... Market-st, Mrs. Harvey Sibert, 1800 Garland-av, Mrs. Belle Gardner, 971 S. Central-av; 12 grandchildren. The body will be removed from Chiles and Son funeral home to the residence at 5 p.m. Monday, there to lie in state until removed to the South Side Church of Christ at 1 p.m. Wednesday to await services at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. E. J. Penhorwood will officiate. Burial will be in Fletcher cemetery. (published in The Lima News, Monday, May 7, 1951)
