Born in Cross Anchor, SC, son of the late John L. and Ila Lawrence Hughes; husband of Kathy Burch Hughes; widower of his first wife, Sylvia Jean Montgomery Hughes. Member of Cedar Shoals Baptist Church, a former deacon at Enoree First Baptist Church, retired employee with Ceramtech, member of Enoree Masonic Lodge #222, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a US Air Force Veteran. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tammy Hughes Couch (William) of Fountain Inn, Wendy Hughes Robinson (John) of Hull, GA; two sons, Clint Eric Letourneau (Ramona) of Enoree, Curt Alan Letourneau of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Hugh Hughes (Betty) of Enoree and six grandchildren. Predeceased by two brothers, Harold Dean Hughes, Ronald K. Hughes; and a sister, Johnnie Faye Hughes. The family received friends 1:30 - 3:00 PM, Sunday May 27, 2018 at Cedar Shoals Baptist Church. Funeral Service immediately followed at 3:00 p.m. at the church officiated by Rev. Phillip Long and Rev. Andy Moore. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorials could be made to Cedar Shoals Baptist Church, Enoree First Baptist Church or to Interim Hospice.
