Description	:	William Ray Nees, 66, of Terre Haute died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born to Helen (Gettle) Nees and Kermit Nees on June 19, 1943. He was a graduate of West Vigo High School and became a firefighter for the City of Terre Haute. After attaining the rank of captain, he was forced to resign due to illness. Read More	William Ray Nees, 66, of Terre Haute died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born to Helen (Gettle) Nees and Kermit Nees on June 19, 1943. He was a graduate of West Vigo High School and became a firefighter for the City of Terre Haute. After attaining the rank of captain, he was forced to resign due to illness. He had also served in the Air National Guard. In 1979, he received a donor kidney from his brother, Norman, and it was successful for 27 years. He is survived by his brothers, Norman (Anita) Nees, and Larry (Ruth Ann) Nees, and a sister Janet Kay (James) O'Donnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and leaves many good friends to remember his good times in life. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with the City of Terre Haute Fire Department Honor Guard giving the memorial. In keeping with his wishes cremation was chosen. A private family burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. For those who choose, memorial contributions can be made to the City of Terre Haute Fire Department to use for their various charitable causes.
