Paul Schneider officiating. Burial was in St. Ludger Cemetery. William Ray Overholt was born in Taylorsville, Ill. on Aug. 24, 1882, the oldest of 13 children of the late John and Mary Overholt. Paul Schneider officiating. Burial was in St. Ludger Cemetery. William Ray Overholt was born in Taylorsville, Ill. on Aug. 24, 1882, the oldest of 13 children of the late John and Mary Overholt. In 1883 he moved with his parents to Saunders County in Nebraska. Later he moved to Bloomfield, where he farmed for 15 years. He was married to Agnes Sharkey at Bloomfield November 21, 1906 and four children were born to them. In 1908 the family moved to Wall, S.D., where they settled on a homestead. They returned to Bloomfield in 1911 and farmed in the Morrillville vicinity for 13 years. They resided on farms near Center and Lindy before moving to their farm 2 and one half miles north of Creighton about 14 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Overholt observed their golden wedding anniversary in Creighton on Nov. 21, 1956 with all their children and their families present. Mr. Overholt had been ill with a heart ailment for two years before his death. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Surviving are his wife, Agnes; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Lucille) McDowell of Harlan, Ia., Mrs. Archie (Evelyn) Johnson of Creighton and Mrs. Vern (Marjorie) Ehlers of Crofton; one son, Lyle, of Creighton; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph of Rapid City, S.D and Audley of Belle Fourche, S.D.;l six sisters, Mrs. Nellie Binger and Mrs. Ruth McDuffey of Fremont, Mrs. Katherine Tennyson of Quinn, S.D., Mrs. Mildred Jeffrey of Cedar Rapids, Ia., Mrs. Edna Dewey of Mason, Wis. and Mrs. Alto Kitchen of Raleigh, N.C. the latter two were not able to attend the services.
