PITTMAN GREER, May 14 -- William Reason Pittman, 62, well known resident of Landrum, Route 2, near Liberty Church north of Greer, died in a Greenville Hospital Sunday morning at 10:45 o'clock after declining health for six months. Mr. Pittman was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robin Pittman. When a young man he married Miss Margaret Bowers who died five years ago. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Minnie Bowers, Tigerville; Bryson and Boyce Pittman, Southern Worsted Mill; Grady Pittman, Taylors, Route 1; Robert Pittman, Tigerville; John Pittman, Taylors, Route 2; Mrs. Dora Edwards, Landrum, Route 2; Mrs. Roxie Stone, Campobello, Route 2; also 25 grandchildren. One brother Mack Pittman, Taylors, Route 1; two sisters, Miss Mirinda Pittman, Taylors, Route 1, and Mrs. Judie Pruitt, Greenville. Mr. Pittman was a member of the Highland Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held from that Church Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock conducted by the Rev. Walter Harrison and the Rev. T.E. Reid. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be nephews; Cecil Bowers, Therman Pittman, Alexander Hart, Preston Pittman, Houston Pittman and Dewey Hart. The following have been asked to assemble at the Church at 4 o'clock to serve as Honorary escort; Sam Crain, Frank Reid, Mint Smith, Judge Robinson and Gardner Dill. The body is at the home.
