Description	:	William Rex Keck, son of Elmer and Julia Wilmeth Keck, was born October 21, 1888, on a farm in Harrisburg township, north of Bonaparte, Iowa, and died March 21, 1956, in Van Buren county Memorial hospital at Keosauqua, of a heart attack. His health had been failing since he suffered a severe heart attack in 1951. He attended the Stone country school and Salem high school. Read More	William Rex Keck, son of Elmer and Julia Wilmeth Keck, was born October 21, 1888, on a farm in Harrisburg township, north of Bonaparte, Iowa, and died March 21, 1956, in Van Buren county Memorial hospital at Keosauqua, of a heart attack. His health had been failing since he suffered a severe heart attack in 1951. He attended the Stone country school and Salem high school. On August 20, 1908, he was united in marriage to Bessie Blanche Randolph of Bentonsport. To this union were born three children, Harold Verle, William Dale and Mildred. Mrs. Keck died October 22, 1918, during the epidemic of flu. On October 11, 1922, Rex was united in marriage to Olga Mitchell of Bonaparte, and to them a daughter, Mary Louise, was born. For the past 21 years, the family has lived in Bonaparte. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Harold Keck of El Cajon, Calif., and Dale Keck, USN, in Japan; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Richards of Ft. Madison; Mrs. Mary Louise Pfeifer of Bonaparte; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Fred and a granddaughter, Nancy Sue Richards. Rex was a skilled carpenter, following this trade as long as his health permitted. A lover of nature his hobby was growing trees, flowers, etc., and he is well-known for his many hot beds and the excellent garden plants he grew. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Services wee held Sunday, Mar. 25, at 2:00 p.m. in the Presbyterian church. John Gill officiated with interment in Dibble cemetery. Obit. provided by Ralph Brown's Great Aunt Hattie Wilmeth.
