He was born June 15, 1887, in Des Moines, the son of Thomas and Ann Rimmer, and spent most of his life in Ottumwa. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the Riverview Methodist Church. His marriage to Viola Mae Fogle took place March 25, 1931, in Lancaster, Mo. She survives. He also leaves two sons, Thomas J. Rimmer of Ottumwa and William Rimmer Jr. Of Centerville; seven grandchildren; a brother, John T. Rimmer of Omaha; and three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Yingling of Ottumwa, Mrs. Laura Hults of Hedrick, and Mrs. Jane Queeny [sic] of Rapid City, S.D. Four sisters preceded him in death. The service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Philgreen of Riverview and Agency Methodist churches officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with the American Legion in charge of military rites.
