Description	:	Reading marriages: ROBBINS, William and Presilla Going, July 2, 1680. *Intention not recorded. William Robbins was a soldier in King Phillip's War. He lived in Reading until 1691. He gave money toward building a meeting-house in the South Parish (Wakefield) and the first church in Lynnfield. He also became a freeman that year. In 1691, he moved from Reading to a section of Dedham which would later become Walpole. He gave money toward building a meeting-house in the South Parish (Wakefield) and the first church in Lynnfield. He also became a freeman that year. In 1691, he moved from Reading to a section of Dedham which would later become Walpole. This part of Dedham was know at that time as at "Ye Sawe Mille," in reference to the mill built by Joshua Fisher and Eleazer Lusher on the Neponset River. He had several connections to this area. Prior to the coming of Robbins, the only permanent settlers in later Wapole were James Fales, Thomas Clap, and Joseph Kingsbury. Priscilla Robbins, William's wife, was a niece of Mrs. Fales. Peter Fales, Jame's son, married Abigail Robbins, William's sister. William's son, William married Hannah Clap, whose mother was a daughter of the "old saw-mill" owner, Fisher. He was the first signer of a petition to set off the southern portion of Dedham as a seperate township. He died shortly after the new town was created.
