Description	:	(from Lynchburg News, 15 Feb 1963) William Roberts Carr Dameron, 78, a retired accountant and a retired agent for Aliance Life Insurance Co. died today at 10:30 a.m. at his home at 621 Federal St. Born near Elon in Amherst County, he was the son of John Howell and Emma Roy Dameron. He graduated from Roanoke College in 1908 and went to work as a bookkeeper at First National Bank. He graduated from Roanoke College in 1908 and went to work as a bookkeeper at First National Bank. He long had been active in various community affairs and for many years served as an election judge and commissioner. Mr. Dameron was a member of the Lynchburg Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans; the Lynchburg Chapter, Society for the Preservation of Barbershop Quartet Singing and the First Church of Christ Scientist. In 1960 he was married to the former Nellie Grey Gregory, his first wife, Mrs. Rachel Potter Dameron, having died a number of years ago. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Mabry and Mrs. Clifton Potter, both of Lynchburg, Mrs. Edward Paris of Norfolk and Mrs. James Harvatt of Alexandria; two sisters, Mrs. Erma Pierson and Miss Marian R. Dameron, and a brother, George H. Dameron, all of Lynchburg. Diuguid Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements which will be announced later.
