Description	:	William Rogers was born on October 26, 1865, at Walnut, in Bureau county, Illinois. In 1882 he moved to Dodge, Dodge county, Nebraska. On March 10th, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Malinda Catherine West. To this union were born three children, two daughters and one son. His wife passed away June 6th, 1900, leaving the father with three small children to care for. November 20th, 1901, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Catherine Dixon, who has cared for and has filled the place of a mother in the home. In 1911 he moved to Boone county... Read More	William Rogers was born on October 26, 1865, at Walnut, in Bureau county, Illinois. In 1882 he moved to Dodge, Dodge county, Nebraska. On March 10th, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Malinda Catherine West. To this union were born three children, two daughters and one son. His wife passed away June 6th, 1900, leaving the father with three small children to care for. November 20th, 1901, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Catherine Dixon, who has cared for and has filled the place of a mother in the home. In 1911 he moved to Boone county and settled just east of the city limits of Albion where he lived until death called him to a better dwelling place. He died at his home at one o’clock Saturday afternoon, June 16, 1934. One daughter, Mrs. Effie Butterfield, preceded him in death in 1919. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and two children, Laura Southworth and Harvey Rogers, of Albion. He also leaves three brothers, James A. Rogers, of Fremont, Nebraska; Thomas and John Rogers of Dodge, Nebraska. Besides there are five grandchildren, Raymond and Verlene Butterfield, Roger Southworth, Harvey Jr. and Beverly Ann Rogers. Mr. Rogers was raised in the Presbyterian church which left its impression upon him. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a friendly neighbor and was ever ready to help those in need. Before coming to Albion he gave himself freely in work for the uplift of the community life, serving many years on the school board, and in other things of general interest to his fellowmen. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Stopford. Mrs. Della McClintick, Mrs. Ruth Cramer, Homer Pont and George Gies sang, Miss Mildred Hess accompanying at the organ. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery. Out of town relatives and friends that were here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James A. Rogers and Jean of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rogers and John Rogers of Dodge, Mrs. Parlee Rogrs of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Butterfield of Calloway, Mrs. Josephine Milliken and son Dale of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Milliken of Ore, Will O’Neill of Grant, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Scott of Fremont, Mrs. Walter Shapland, Dale and Lola Belle Rogers of Lincoln, Mrs. Hannah Anderson, Mrs. Gertrude Harris and Hubert Gilmore, all of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. Artie Harris of Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. James Harris of Dodge and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harris of Genoa.
