He passed away peacefully on March 2, 2019 at the NWLA Veterans Home in Bossier City, LA at 80 years of age. He was a former resident of Houston, TX. His parents were Gordon Elwyn and Marie Hardin Whittington of Florien, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his twin brother, George Donald Whittington (6-19-18). Ronald went to Elementary school in Florien, LA. He was a graduate of South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas and a graduate of Lamar Tech University in Beaumont, Texas. He was employed at Haliburton in Houston, Texas for many years. He is survived by his son, Jim Whittington and wife, Roberta of Bedford, Oregon, his granddaughters, Phoebe and Clio Whittington of Bedford, Oregon, his step daughter, Shay Dodson of Bonner Springs, Kansas, his step son, Jay Peoples of Denver, Colorado, his sister-in-law, Betty Whittington of Shreveport, Louisiana, his nephew, John Whittington of Shreveport, Louisiana, his niece, Jane Mayfield and husband Steve of Bossier City, Louisiana and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many, LA from 4:30 – 6:30 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Graveside Service will be on Wednesday March 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Prospect Methodist Church Cemetery in Florien, LA with Dr. Roy Cook from Natchitoches officiating. The family wishes to express appreciation to the Drs, Nurses and all the staff, especially Wing 4, at the NWLA Veterans Home for their loving care over the recent years. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, act.alz.org or the Charity of the donor’s choice.
