Roy was the son of William Calvin Heller and Virginia Margaret Gilmore, who were early pioneers, arriving in Holyoke in 1887. He lived on a farm northwest of Holyoke until he and his family moved to Holyoke in 1949. His family at that time included his wife, Eunice Idell Cauble, whom he married on May 12, 1912, and two sons, Raymond and Leslie. In June of 1953, Raymond was killed in an accident while working for Phillips County. Mrs. Heller passed away in Holyoke on June 2, 1965. Leslie now resides in Sterling. Roy was one of six children. Five sisters, four who preceded him in death were Hattie Woodhams, Rebecca Austin, Ida Woodhams and Ethel Utesler. His sole surviving sister is Clara Bailey of Englewood. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Eugene Heller and Shirley Cary of Denver, Linda and Sharon Heller of Missouri and four great grandchildren. He had many nieces and nephews as well as great and great great nieces and nephews. Holyoke Enterprise July 28, 1977 MARRIAGE State Herald, Holyoke, CO, 17 May 1912 The home of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Cauble was the scene of a pretty home wedding Sunday afternoon when their daughter Eunice Idell became the bride of Mr. William Roy Heller. Surrounded by a number of relatives and intimate friends of the contracting parties, Rev. William C. Garberson pronounced the beautiful ceremony which culminated a romance lasting over three years. The pride was simply, but tastefully gowned in white, while the groom wore navy blue. After they had received the congratulations of the many guests, light refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Heller left later in the day for the home of the groom's parents where a reception was tendered them on Monday. They will make their home with the senior Hellers as the father and son have their farming interests together. Miss Cauble has spent the most of her life thus far in Phillips County and has made many friends. She will be much missed in the social circles about Amitie where her presence has helped to enliven many gatherings. The groom who is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. William Heller, was born and raised in this county and is known as an industrious young man of sterling qualities.
