He is survived by two sons, Chaplin, Will of Dufur, Ore, two daughters, Mrs. H. A. The funeral will be Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from Meeks chapel, conducted by the Odd Fellows. -The Hiawatha Daily World (Hiawatha, KS), Tue., Jan. 22nd, 1929. ------------------------------------------------ Three Young Men of Hiawatha Made Good Friends of the Evans family were pleased to meet the three fine young men who came back to the Old Home Town for the funeral of William Evans, who died in Pasadena, Calif., Friday, Jan. 18. They are worthy grandsons of that splendid specimen of Welsh stock, David Evans, who was the founder of the Welsh settlement northeast of Hiawatha. William, Jr., and Chapman Evans, sons of Will Evans are located in Dufur, Ore. William is a hardware merchant, has been in the business for 28 years. Chapman is in the insurance business. Roderick Rice, nephew of Wm. Evans, is president of a bank in North Little Rock, Ark. Mr. Evans daughters, Mrs. Harold McIntosh, Miss Huntley Evans, who live in South Pasadena, were unable to come to the funeral. They are spending a few days at the Evans "old home place," where Misses Sarah, Nell, Margaret live, and with old time friends. -The Hiawatha Daily World (Hiawatha, KS), Fri. Jan. 25th, 1929.
