An Immense Procession Accompanied the Remains to Their Last Resting Place. Civic Societies and Military Companies in Line With a Large Number of Carriages. Regardless of the drizzling rain the funeral of the late William Scott Wetzel was attended by a very large people. The great throng of people who were unable to attain admission to the hall in which the services took place, but who helped to swell the number in the procession to the grave, were not all residents of this city. The long procession to the grave was made up of the representative men from this and adjoining towns and it surpassed anything seen before in this city. The Grand Army was well represented in the Sheridan post, and these veterans, grizzled and gray, escorted Company A First regiment of Montana, made an imposing appearance at the head of the column. Then came the Odd Fellows, the Knights of Pythias and the United Workmen, and finally the Masons under whose direction the the funeral was conducted. A long string of carriages, seventy-three in number, followed those on foot. The services at the grave were conducted by the Masons after which the Grand Army gathered around the grave and with bent heads and solemn mien listened to that sound so familiar in military life which marks the close of the day--taps. A young buglar stepped to the head of the grave and with his bugle blew taps or, as the old soldiers call it, "Lights out", and the mortal remains of William Scott Wetzel were consigned to the grave. Wetzel is quartered at the Woodridge Hotel whether he has moved several days ago on orders of his physician, in order to be nearer the business part of town. Though still confined to his room he has a secretary to transact some important matters for him .
