Fetrow Civil War: PVT Company K. 192nd Regiment Pennsylvania Infantry Born in Conewago Township, York County, Pennsylvania, the son of David Philip & Barbara (Shetter) Fetrow, he married Sarah Ziegler and fathered Henry A. (b. @1858) and Emma A. (b. @1859) - possibly an incomplete list. In 1860 he was a carpenter living in Fairview Township, York County, and stood 5' 6" tall with brown hair and blue eyes. Fetrow Civil War: PVT Company K. 192nd Regiment Pennsylvania Infantry Born in Conewago Township, York County, Pennsylvania, the son of David Philip & Barbara (Shetter) Fetrow, he married Sarah Ziegler and fathered Henry A. (b. @1858) and Emma A. (b. @1859) - possibly an incomplete list. In 1860 he was a carpenter living in Fairview Township, York County, and stood 5' 6" tall with brown hair and blue eyes. A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in York August 4, 1862, and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 9 as a private with Co. K, 130th Pennsylvania Infantry. At the battle of Fredericksburg on December 13, 1862, a shell fragment struck him in the forehead, although he apparently did not leave active duty for long. Shortly thereafter, however, he was hospitalized at Acquia Creek Landing, Virginia, for frostbite of the feet and then contracted dysentery. He topped that off by being shot in the right leg near the knee at the battle of Chancellorsville May 3, 1863. The wound apparently was not serious because he honorably discharged with his company May 21, 1863, and then served July 2 - August 13, 1863, as a private with Co. D, 47th Pennsylvania Militia, during the Gettysburg crisis. By no later than 1892, he was living in Kansas, likely having followed his brother there. SEE Findagrave #14461850 Dennis W.
