Paskun Jr., 81, of 330 Front Street, Westernport, died Saturday 4 January 1992 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born in Westernport, he was the son of the late William S. Paskun Sr. and Anna (Jurgelas) Paskun. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Westernport, where he sang in the church choir for 65 years. He was a former member of the September Singers in Cumberland and sang in the annual cantata of the Westernport Church of the Brethren. He was a member of Victory Post 155, American Legion and Aubrey and Robert Stewart VFW Post of Piedmont. Mr. Paskun was an Army veteran of World War II where he served in the Fifth Army in charge of the lab operation of the Fifth Army's Evac. Hospital. He served as a tech. Sergeant. He traveled through Sicily, Italy and into Germany where he was awarded the Bronze Star on the Front Line Battlefield. The Bronze Star signifies service above and beyond the call of duty. He was retired from Westvaco Luke mill in the finishing room. Survivors include his wife, Irene (Cropp) Paskun, Westernport; one son, William S. Paskun III, Baltimore and one daughter, Maria Ann Clark, Pawley's Island, S. C. Friends will be received at Boal-Warnick Funeral Home in Westernport on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father Paul A. Byrnes officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Military honors and pallbearers will be accorded by Victory Post 155 American Legion of Westernport, Kelly-Mansfield Post 52 American Legion of Piedmont and Aubrey and Robert Stewart VFW Post of Piedmont."
