Description	:	William Stanley Walker married Virginia Billups, youngest of the ten children of Dr. Thomas George Billups of Green Mansion (brother to our direct ancestor, Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Billups, discussed in the Gayle Section) and his first cousin, Sally Bet Billups. Her parents died within a month of each other in 1886 when Virginia was just a small child. Cousin Virginia was raised at Green Mansion on North River by her Aunt Roberta, her mother's sister. Her parents died within a month of each other in 1886 when Virginia was just a small child. Cousin Virginia was raised at Green Mansion on North River by her Aunt Roberta, her mother's sister. She attended high school in Baltimore and lived with an older sister, another Roberta, called "Bertie". Virginia and Stanley were married in Baltimore in April of 1920, "a marriage which came as a great surprise to the many friends of both parties…" Cousin Stanley "kept store" at Mobjack -- the same business founded by his father. He and Cousin Virginia lived at Mobjack between the store and the Post Office where Stanley Anderton had been the Postmaster. I remember their large enclosed porch – Grandmama and I visited there often when I was a child. Cousin Stanley was a very entertaining host, teasing everyone and telling jokes. He died at the age of 74 in New Orleans -- in 1970 at the home of his daughter. He was buried at Providence Cemetery beside Virginia who had died 11/21/1966. Stanley and Virginia had one daughter:
