COrnelius took place in Perry yesterday the 15th instant and was largely attended by sympathising friends. The sermon was preached in the Methodist church and were solemn and appropriate. The funeral of the late William T. COrnelius took place in Perry yesterday the 15th instant and was largely attended by sympathising friends. The sermon was preached in the Methodist church and were solemn and appropriate. A perfect avalanche of flowers were sent, and to specify the names of the donors would be almost impossible, there was so many and the list would be too large to engraft in this notice. The pallbearers were members of Perry Division, No. 84, Order of Railway Conductors, and they accompanied the remains to Marion, where interment took place in Oak Shade cemetery at half past four o'clock in the afternoon and were in charge of our townsman, and life time friend of teh Cornelius boys, Conductor C.E. Cross. The solemn and impressive ceremonies of the Order of Railway Conductors were given and had the effect of brining tears to the eyes of all present. No one in the Order in this vicinity has been heard to deliver the eulogy over the remains of one of their Order, as Conductor Charley Cross did on this occasion. A large number of the citizens of Marion attended the last sad rites, thus showing their sympathy for the bereaved wife and friends. Conductor "Billy" Cornelius as he was familiarly called, was born near Freeport, Illinois, 38 years ago, and has been in the employ of the C.M. & St. P. Ry. for about 18 years. He was held in high esteem by the officials of the Milwaukee and was a sober, industrious young man. Four years ago he buried his first wife in Marion, and a little over one year ago he married Miss Nan Waddell from Newhall, who survives him, as do two little daughters aged 10 and 8 years.
