Employment: taught rural schools in Adams and Clay counties, 1930-1942; Was principal and coach, then superintendent and coach at Holstein Public Schools, 1946-1950; Was also superintendent at Clay Center, Shelby, Pleasanton and Trumbull, and guidance counselor at Adams Central High School, retiring in 1975; Nuckolls County superintendent, 1979-1991; worked with the Blue Hill Meals on Wheels Program, 1977-1994. Activities: past member of the Nebraska Teachers Association, National Education Association, Nebraska Association of School Administrators, Phi Delta Kappa Honorary Professional Organization, Kearney Area Teacher's Association, Polk, Clay and Adams County Teachers' Associations and Nebraska Personnel and Guidance Association; member of the church and the American Legion Post, both in Blue Hill. Survivors include: wife; son, Ted of Loup City; daughters, Julia Prochaska of Shelton and Suzanne Kohmetscher of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; Preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
