Read More	Boone County Democrat Thursday, May 21, 1914 A most unfortunate incident occurred at the McHose tile plant at Fraser about 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, which resulted in the death of one man, William Ellsberry. It seems that he and a fellow workman named Gilbert Currier were engaged in working one of the machines in the plant and did not seem to be getting along very harmoniously together, in fact it is said that they had been quarreling and bickering more or less all the morning and finally came to blows. A few blows had been struck when finally Currier landed on Ellsberry’s neck, breaking the neck and causing his death almost instantly. It is not very clear as yet just what the nature of the blow was. Some say he merely struck him with his fist and others say that the blow was struck with a heavy stick which Currier picked up. This, however, does not change the result. Word was immediately telephoned to the officers here and Sheriff Reid and County Attorney Hollingsworth left immediately for Frasier. Currier made no attempt to get away, but remained quietly at the plant until the officers arrived, and gave himself up and was later brought to Boone. He talked freely of the occurrence, claiming that it was more in the nature of a friendly scuffle than a quarrel, and that there was no intention on his part to do injury. The body of Ellsberry was taken to his home a couple of miles up the river. Both were well known young men in the community, each about 25 years of age, and the unfortunate incident is a great shock to the entire community. No funeral arrangements are known as yet. A coroner’s jury was empaneled by Coroner N.W. Whitehill Wednesday evening, consisting of Arthur Craven E.M. Cayler and John May. They brought in a verdict that Elsberry came to his death from a blow struck by Gilbert Currier.
