Description	:	W T McLane, one of the best known residents of Clemons died Friday night at his home following a short illness. Death came suddenly, due to apoplexy. Mr McLane was first stricken a week ago and failed to rally from the attack. Mr McLane had been employed as a cream hauler for the Clemons creamery for seventeen or eighteen years. Mr McLane was first stricken a week ago and failed to rally from the attack. Mr McLane had been employed as a cream hauler for the Clemons creamery for seventeen or eighteen years. He was born in Greenburg, Indiana, May 11, 1862. He was married on December 9, 1883 to Miss Eldora Clemens. Mrs McLane died at Clemons February 13, 1931. Mr McLane was the last member of a large family. He is survived by three children, Mrs Harvey Crosby of Zearing, Jesse McLane of State Center and Mrs Oliver Jackman, formerly of Marshalltown who has been making her home with Mr McLane for the last year. Four grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held from the Clemons Christian Church Sunday afternoon and were largely attended. Rev Biersborn of Liscomb was in charge. The pallbearers were Frank Davis, Frank Smith, Frank Males, Clinton Longfield, Guy Heath and A C Kersey. The flowers were care for by Mrs Edna Jones, Mrs Cadace Everist, Mrs Bess Von Spreckelsen, Mrs Ruth Ross, Mrs Nora Males and Mrs Dora Dunn. Burial was in the Clemons cemetery. Friends and relatives attended from Tama, Marshalltown, Hubbard, Zearing, Union and Lamoille. December 1, 1932 State Center Enterprise.
