Nichols, John Cater, Joe, Willie and Clyde, all of the Aynor section. A large crowd of sorrowing friends gathered at the Brown Swamp Methodist Church on Monday afternoon April 23 to pay their last respects to one of its oldest and most faithful members. He associated with the church in his boyhood days and remained a most devoted and loyal supporter until the end. For many years he was a member of the Men's Bible class of his Sunday school through which he continued to serve his Lord and his cause until ill health prevented further attendance several years before services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. T. E. Derrick. Quarte-" Neary My Home, sung by Hal B. Holmes, J. K. Dorman, Mrs. Goldfinch, and Miss Fannie Baker and Mrs Nina Vaught at the organ. Scripture reading by Rev. Derrick Quarter-"No Night There." Prayer by Rev. Derrick Quartete "Abide With Me" The service was then concluded at the grave in the Brown Swamp Cemetery where the body was given its final resting place. The flower girls were his granddaughters. Obituary is cut off at the bottom of the page on newspaper microfilm.
