Description	:	He was the son of George W. Owen and Lucinda Harris Owen. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife Nellie Ruth Owen, six daughters and two step daughters, and one son and thirtytwo grandchildren, his step mother Mrs. Martha Bain of Lineville, one sister, Mrs. Anna Baker of Lineville and one half sister Mrs. Carrie George and four half brothers George, Steve and Mark of Leon and Jim Owen of Lineville, and one step-brother, John Dunlap of Springfield Mo. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife Nellie Ruth Owen, six daughters and two step daughters, and one son and thirtytwo grandchildren, his step mother Mrs. Martha Bain of Lineville, one sister, Mrs. Anna Baker of Lineville and one half sister Mrs. Carrie George and four half brothers George, Steve and Mark of Leon and Jim Owen of Lineville, and one step-brother, John Dunlap of Springfield Mo. When he was a small boy he moved with his parents to Indiana where he remained for a number of years. Later returning to Decatur county, which has been his home most of the time since. He was converted at Logan Chapel, November 1885, and when passing the old church he always stopped and looked in at the window at the place where he was converted which he said "was one of the dearest places in the world to me." He carried license to exhort in the Methodist church as long as he lived in a Methodist community, later when he moved to Leon he was licensed to preach in the Baptist church and preached for a number of years. He received the Holy Ghost in the Pentecostal church in 1912 and always worked where oportunity offered. On Sept 25, 1888 he was united in marriage to Miss Amanda Spencer, who preceded him in death on May 14, 1902. To this union were born six children, Mrs. May Ellis of Thorton, Wyoming, Robert Burton sho died at the age of 18 months, Robert Irvin Owen, Mrs. Anna Phipps, Mrs. Myrtle Blunt, and Mrs. Lavada Martin all of Leon. He was married again Dec 27 1905 to Mrs. Sarah Quigley, to this union one daughter, Mrs. Lavena Caster, of Centerville, Iowa was born. His wife preceded him in death on Oct 31, 1913. He was married to Mrs. Nellie Moore Dec 12, 1916 and to this union one daughter, Ruth Audrey Owen, who is still at home. He also raised five children who were not his own, but he was a real father to them, namely Lawrence W. Woolsey, Sam Woolsey, who came to his home when they were small boys and there grew to manhood, both are now deceased. One step-son, Forest Quigley, who died with the flu in 1918. Two step daughters, Mrs. Opal McConkey and Miss Thelma Mooore, who is still at home. They had never known any other father and he was a true and kind father in every since of the word. He was a sexton for the Leon cemetery for 23 years till failing helth forced him to retire from actiive life. Besides his sorrowing relatives he leaves a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb 20 from the Stewart Funeral home.
