Description	:	Wm. T. Vavak, age 93 of Mead, died Friday April 8, 2005 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha. He was born December 21, 1911 to Frank and Frances (Milachek) Vavak on the family farm near Weston. He attended rural school and Weston High School. Vavak, age 93 of Mead, died Friday April 8, 2005 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha. He was born December 21, 1911 to Frank and Frances (Milachek) Vavak on the family farm near Weston. He attended rural school and Weston High School. On April 29, 1939, he and LaVerne Kubalek were united in marriage at the Czech Presbyterian Church in Weston. She died January 29, 1989. On August 6, 1990, he and Clara Veskrna were married in Wahoo. Wm. started his farming career on the family farm near Weston. In 1948 the family moved to the Mead area where he continued farming until he retired in 1981. He remained on the farm until his death. He loved threshing. Harvest time was his favorite time on the farm, and he took part in it whenever possible. He was a member of the Prague Presbyterian Church. He loved history and was one of the founders of the Saunders County Historical Society, of which he was a board member for many years. He was a member of the Camp Creek Association and enjoyed exhibiting there. Over the years, Wm. Served on the Mead School Board, Mead Rural Fire Board, and was a member of Stella Chapter #57 O.E.S., and the Wahoo Lodge #59 A.M. & F.M. Wm. was preceded in death by his parents and sister. He is survived by his wife Clara of Wahoo, son and daughter-in-law Garwood and Denise Sierra Vavak of Chelsea, AL; daughter and son-in-law Valerie and Willard Witte of Yutan; grandson Craig (Rhonda) Witte of Yutan; great granddaughter Hayley Witte of Yutan; stepsons Dan (Roberta) Havelka of Mead, and Adrian Havelka of Wahoo; stepdaughter Pauline (Jack) Dekins of Louisville KY; step grandchildren Shawn (Lyle) Havelka, Dale (Michelle) Havelka, Shannon ( Dwyne) Novetny, Lynn (Ritchie) Booth, Paula (Ken) Collins, Bill (Michelle) Flagle, Allan Flagle; step great-grandchildren Ross and Cordon Havelka, Catlain and Tyson Havelka, Jennifer Wright, Chelsea Booth, John William Collins, Jasmine and Brandyn Flagle. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday April 14 at the Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-8 p.m. with the family present 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Sunrise Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Saunders County Historical Society.
