William VanKirk was born in Huron County, Ohio, October 6, 1835, and came west about 21 years ago living in Iowa and South Dakota. Read More	------------------------- William VanKirk Dead Died at his home in Boyd County, Nebraska, on Friday, December 23d, 1904. William VanKirk, aged 69 years, 2 months and 17 days. William VanKirk was born in Huron County, Ohio, October 6, 1835, and came west about 21 years ago living in Iowa and South Dakota. He settled in Knox County 11 years ago, making his home near Creighton. While here he became affiliated with Creighton lodge No. 100 A. F. & A.M. and he retained his membership until his death. He removed to the vicinity of Gross, in Boyd County a short time ago and this fall had completed negotiations for a farm in the Redbird Country in Holt county. He was moving his effects from his home at Gross to the new location at Redbird when he contracted typhoid pneumonia, which proved his conquerer. His body was brought down from Boyd County on Christmas Day and the funeral took place from Salem school house three miles east of Creighton Monday morning, interment being made in the cemetery at Bazile Mills. The Masons of Creighton Lodge had the funeral in charge at the request of the family of the departed brother, and nearly twenty of the brethren took part in the last sad rites over the body according to the ancient usages of the order. Mr. VanKirk leaves a wife and family to mourn his demise. They will make their home on the farm at Redbird. They have the sympathy of the community at this their hour of sorrow. RESOLUTIONS Whereas, it has pleased Almighty God to call from his labors on earth our Brother William VanKirk, to the refreshment of His Presence, Therefore be it resolved, by Creighton Lodge No. 100, A. F. & A. M., that we bow in submission to the will of Him whom we all seek to serve and whose acts are at all times wise, if beyond our human comprehension. Be it further resolved that we extend to the family which by the death of this brother has been bereft of husband, father and brother, our sincere sympathy in this their hour of sorrow. W. L.
