Knowles, chief of the Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department, died Friday morning at Ellsworth Municipal hospital of injuries received in an accident Thursday, while on duty at a minor fire at the Hubbard Community hatchery. Funeral services were held Monday at the Boeke Funeral home and the Salem Evangelical church with the Rev. P. W. Pfaltgraff in charge. Burial was in the Hubbard Cemetery.
