Description	:	The whole community was shocked and saddened, when it was learned Sunday afternoon, that Bill Chase, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Chase, had passed away at the Virginia Mason hospital in Seattle, WA. Bill had been ill in the hospital almost ten days, with an infectious sore throat and complications, but a letter from his aunt Dorothy, Mrs. Richardson, on Saturday morning had said that he seemed better, however a telegram received Sunday noon, stated that his condition was much worse. Read More	The whole community was shocked and saddened, when it was learned Sunday afternoon, that Bill Chase, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Chase, had passed away at the Virginia Mason hospital in Seattle, WA. Bill had been ill in the hospital almost ten days, with an infectious sore throat and complications, but a letter from his aunt Dorothy, Mrs. Richardson, on Saturday morning had said that he seemed better, however a telegram received Sunday noon, stated that his condition was much worse. When the family talked with his aunt on long distance telephone, they were told that in spite of everything that could be done he was failing fast. Another long distance phone call in the late afternoon, confirmed the dreaded news that he passed quietly away fully conscious at five o'clock Sunday afternoon, July 7, 1940. William Wallace Chase was born May 6, 1921, the elder of the "Chase twins" as the community knew them. He and his twin brother Robert graduated from Parker High School, class of 1939. Last fall Bill went to Seattle, WA. To attend the University of Washington, making his home with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Richardson and his aunt, Miss Josephine Chase. He stayed on after school was out, to work and had been called to work at the Bremmerton Navy yards while he was ill. Bill is survived by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Chase, his older brother, James and his twin brother, Robert.
