Description	:	Family records show that William was the son of Hugh and Martha (King) Connelly. There is a little information about William and his family in an article that was written about William's son-in-law Charlie Johnson and his family in the "History of Wapello County, Iowa, Volume II," published by the S.J. Clarke Publishing Company in 1914. The article is on pages 185-186, and his name is spelled "Charley" in the article. This book is now in the public domain, and the article may be read on-line. CONNELLY ANSWERS CALL OLD AND HIGHLY RESPECTED RESIDENT OF WAPELLO COUNTY DIES AT HOME NEAR AGENCY From Monday's Daily. Wallace W. Connelly one of the early and highly respected residents of Wapello County, passed away Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the family residence, one and one half miles north of Agency. Mr. Connelly was 71 years of age and is survived by his wife and six children. The funeral cortege will leave the late residence at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, April 16, and proceed to the Methodist Church in Agency, where the services will be conducted at 3 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Agency Cemetery. Mr. Connelly's children are: Mrs. P.G. Murray and Mrs. H. Harman of Ottumwa; Mrs. Charles Johnson, Vern Connelly, James Connelly, D.D. Connelly, and Mrs. D. Newell of Agency. He is also survived by two brothers, John Connelly of Agency, and Charles Connelly of Ottumwa, and two sisters, Mrs. H. Colbeck [sic] of Peabody, Kan., and Mrs. Henry Temple of Worth, Wash. Mr. Connelly's death will be mourned by a host of other relatives and friends. (Note: William's sister was Mrs. H. Calbeck, not Colbeck.) Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," Found in a Scrapbook at the Wapello County Genealogy Society: William Wallace Connelly was born in Somerset County, Pa., Oct. 30, 1835, and died April 14, 1907. He was 71 years, 5 months and 15 days of age. He is survived by his wife, six children, two brothers, and three sisters. His children are J.C., D.D., and W.B. Connelly of Agency, Iowa, Mrs. P.G. Murray and Mrs. H.H. Harman of Ottumwa, and Mrs. C.E. Johnson of Agency. His brothers, Chas. Connelly of Ottumwa and John, of Agency. His sisters are Mrs. Henry Temple of Worth, Wash., Mrs. M. Colbeck [sic] of Peabody, Kansas, and Mrs. D. Newell of Agency. One daughter, Maria, preceded him. W.W. Connelly came to Iowa with his parents in the spring of 1844 and settled on a farm two miles east of Agency, and has resided in Wapello County continuously from that time. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Ruckman, March 27, 1856. He was a member of the M.E. Church, Agency. He was a loving father and a kind friend. He seemed happiest when his children gathered in the parental circle.–Contributed.
