Description	:	The funeral of William W. Doub, late vice-president and secretary of the People's Fire Insurance Company and well-known citizen of Middletown, took place from the Lutheran church, Rev. William C. Day, pastor, Tuesday afternoon (April 5, 1927), at 2 o'clock. It was largely attended and there were many beautiful floral emblems. The Middletown Lutheran church was filled with sorrowing relatives and friends of the deceased and the ceremonies, in which five ministers took part, were impressive. Rev. Mr. Day conducted the service and delivered the funeral sermon. He was assisted by Dr. J.E. Byers, president of the Maryland Lutheran Synod; Dr. John Bowers, pastor of the Catonsville Lutheran church, and Rev. C.A. Neal, pastor of the Myersville Lutheran church, Rev. John S. Adam, pastor of the Middletown Reformed church, assisted at the grave where the service was under the direction of the Masonic order. Directors of the Valley Savings Bank acted as honorary pallbearers. Officers and employees of the People's Fire Insurance Company, officers and members of the Junior Order, United American Mechanics and the Sunday school class of the Lutheran church, of which the deceased was a teacher, attended in a body. Active pallbearers, Knights Templar, were: Albert M. Coblentz, Foster C. Remsburg, D. Edgar Bittle, Albert S. Remsburg, Harry O. Schroeder and Abram Hemp. C.T.K. Gladhill, funeral director.
