The 1944 Fort Pickett Real Estate Map notes another cemetery—designated "Cemetery B"— located approximately 533 meters to the southeast that may have served as the slave cemetery (see Moore Cemetery). Furthermore, it provides insight into land transfers noted in later deeds. ' "2nd. I will that all my land remain together unsold and undivided during eight years or until the fall of the year 1857. If at the end of the eight years my wife Rebecca be still living I wish my land divided, one third given to my wife during her natural life or widowhood, and the other two thirds sold and the money equally divided among all my children." "3rd. It is my will that all my negroes remain together undivided until the 25th Dec(‘r) 1854 and worked upon my land and if from their increase the(y) become too numerous for the land, then that my executors shall hire out such hands as they may think (it unnicissary) to be worked on the land; my objich in leaving my land and negroes to be undivided during eight years is, that my family may have a home and my three youngest children to be educated and raised, and at the expiration of said eight years, I wish my negroes divided, as my land, that is, that one third be allotted to my wife Rebecca if living during her natural life or widow-hood and the other two thirds equally divided among all my children, and it is my will that the negro boy which I loaned my son Dr. John C. Watkins (named Peter) be brought back into my estate and appraised, and that my said son be at liberty to take him at the appraisement, and account for him out of his part on the division of my estate."
