Description	:	As a Pvt during the Battle of Point Place, Sept 1774, it is documented William carried his brother Capt Samuel Willson off the battlefield after Sam was reportedly killed instantly from being shot through his powderhorn which was hanging around his neck. William had 2 known brothers, a probable brother Robert, and 2 known sisters: 1. Capt Samuel Willson (who lived next door to William on Bullpasture Mountain) and died at the Battle of Point Pleasant in Sep 1774. 2. Lt Col George Willson (of Cowpasture near Bullpasture Mountain, later of Westmoreland Co, PA) died from exposure/pneumonia on the march to meet his commander, Gen George Washington in Quibbletown (now known as New Market), New Jersey. Timothy Pickering (who commanded the Essex, Massachusetts regiment and was also stationed near there) recorded in his journal on March 1st that Lt Col George was dead. With other documentation, Lt. Col George died after his arrival on February 10 and before February 28th, 1777. 3. Jane (married a Stuart/Stewart) 4. Agness (Agness having married a military man named Huston/Houston). 5. Robert (1726, Ireland - 1820,) lived in Cowpasture with father Archelaus ("Hercules", "Horklas") and both Robert and Archelaus removed to Person County according to land records there. It is presumed Archelaus "Hercules"/"Horklas" Willson is their father by exact Y-DNA Wilson matching. Archelaus was the first documented in the Cowpasture/Doe Hill area and lived in Cowpasture (near the foot of Bullpasture Mountain, VA). In 1755, Archelaus sold his Cowpasture land to William & Capt Samuel's brother, Lt Col George, and moved with son Robert to Person Co, NC where Archelaus and Robert bought acreage next to each other on Flat River. Both worked as surveyors for Richard Holman/Holeman who surveyed much of North Carolina. In those survey records, Archealus is named both Archelaus & Hercules along with Robert. Robert married Ann Latta (b. 1729) and had a large family, including sons named William, George, Samuel, and Archelaus. His father Archelaus died before 1780 as his Estate probated in Person County, NC in 1780.
