His parents having died several years earlier leaving him and his sister's Della and Fannie orphaned. William W Johns married Lavina "Vinnie" Padgett Dec 17, 1889 Baker County, Florida. In the 1880 census he is living with Jackson and Frances Hatcher listed as William Johns 10 Florida orphan. His parents having died several years earlier leaving him and his sister's Della and Fannie orphaned. William W Johns married Lavina "Vinnie" Padgett Dec 17, 1889 Baker County, Florida. Daughter of Stephen and Nancy Padgett. Lavina was born 1875, she is with her parents in the 1880 census at 5 years of age. She married William at age 14. In the 1900 census she is 25 born Dec 1875. Lavina died in Port Orange, Volusia County, Florida at 59 years of age. Some of the census and her death certificate have her younger but I don't know how that could be based on her marriage. Based on the census, William and Lavina's children are: Luke, Lottie, Amanda, Rosa, Thomas, Susan, Annie, Alvie, William and Calvin. His wife Lavina and sons Luke, Alvie and his daughter Susie are buried in Padgett Cemetery. His sons William, Calvin and daughter Lottie are buried in Spruce Creek Cemetery in Volusia County, Florida. His daughter Amanda is buried in Highland Cemetery. His children Rosa,Thomas and Annie seem to have died young, no marriage or death records that I can find.
