The cause of death was kidney and bladder trouble and the suffering was most severe, yet he bore it with patience to the end when death came as a relief. Deceased was 69 years and 4 months old and was the father of 10 children, seven of whom survive him. An aged and beloved wife and many friends are left to mourn the sad death of a dear one. Mr Harvey was a native of this community and had many warm friends. He was an honorable citizen and believed in the right and only that. Funeral services were conducted from the Friends church here yesterday at 10 a.m. by Mrs. Leannah Hobson, former pastor of the church, afterwhich interment was made in the Rush Creek cemetery. ================================= Kingman Star Kingman, Indiana Friday, March 27, 1908 edition OBITUARY William Harvey, son of Harlan and Ruth Chew Harvey, was born November 18, 1838, near Sylvania on the farm now owned by M.M. Madden and died at his late home in this city on Tuesday, March 17, 1908. His father owned and operated a tan yard where the deceased spent his boyhood days. He was married to Mahala J. Doan March 26, 1857, To this union were born ten children, six boys and four girls, three of whom preceded him to the better land. The other seven were present at his death. Deceased was converted in Plainfield in 1868 and was a lifelong member of the Friends church. He as an ardent member of the F. & A.M. and K. of P. fraternal orders who took a very active in the funeral services. He has been failing in health for the past eighteen months. He was conscious of the approaching death and called his family together for prayer, bidding them farewell and saying he was ready to go. He was one of a family of twelve children of whom only one sister, Mrs. Abbie Dubby of Indianapolis, surviving him. She not being able to be present on account of an invalid son. The Lord has given and The Lord has taken away. Funeral services were conducted Thursday from the Friends church by Mrs. Leannah Hobson afterwhich the remains were laid to rest in the Rushcreek cemetery. =================================
