Description	:	GEORGETOWN -- Willie Benton Jr., 71, died Friday, Oct. 11, 1996, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Johnsonville, a son of the late Willie Benton Sr. and Florence Graham Benton. Mr. Benton lived in the Johnsonville and Georgetown areas his entire life and was employed by several grocery stores in the area. He retired from Piggly Wiggly in 1986. He was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Johnsonville, a son of the late Willie Benton Sr. and Florence Graham Benton. Mr. Benton lived in the Johnsonville and Georgetown areas his entire life and was employed by several grocery stores in the area. He retired from Piggly Wiggly in 1986. He was a Navy veteran and former president of Georgetown Navy Club. He was a former Mason. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, member of the Fellowship Sunday school class and served on the budget committee. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth B. Benton; two sons, Thomas Wood of Chesterfield and Willie Benton III of Jonesboro, Ga.; two daughters, Carolyn Abner of Waynesburg, Ky., and Sue Dunn of Sumter; a brother, Elton Benton of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
