WILLIAM McK WARD A WOMAN OF DEEP PIETY AND EXALTED DISPOSITION After a somewhat protracted illness, Miss Willie H. Ward died at 5 oclock yesterday at her home on South Main Street. Her death was not unexpected, her relatives and friend having realized was near. Miss Wards illness is believed to have dated from a fall which she received several winters ago while attending an entertainment at the Warren House, at which time she sustained injuries which proved quite severe. She recovered in part from the accident, but never regained in full her vigor and activity, and for many months was able to walk only by the aid of a cane. Early this spring she had a second fall, while walking in the yard at her home. Her injury then probed singularly and somewhat significantly free from pain, suggesting paralysis. In time the fractured bone united, but she continued to grow weaker. At last her condition became hopeless and for a week prior to her death it was know that she could not long survive. Miss Ward was the youngest child of Rev. William K. and Mrs. Fannie Heneberger ward, her father being a well know minister. She possessed a bright mind, a disposition of unusual vivacity and a charm of manner that won her friends everywhere. Her popularity was general and as lasting as her friendships were sincere. From early girlhood Miss Ward was a member of the Methodist church and took an active part in Sunday-school as well as all other departments of church work. She was also an active and enthusiastic member of Turner Ashby Chapter, Daughters of the Confederacy, her loyalty to the Confederate cause, to which she gave two soldier brothers, both slain in battle, being supreme. Miss Ward is survived by three sisters Mrs. Fannie Kemper, Mrs. Philo Bradley and Miss Emma Ward, all of Harrisonburg. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence at 5 oclock this afternoon.
