Read More	Obituary is from the Currie Funeral Home (Kilmarnock, Va.) website, posted November 26, 2013: Willie Madison "Moon" Webb, 95, of Weems, Va. died on November 25, 2013.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary C. Webb; several nieces and nephews and a cousin, Marie Allie of Sacramento, California. Mr. Webb was a United States Army veteran of World War II and was the first draftee for World War II from Lancaster County which interrupted his training with the Baltimore Orioles and the Babe Ruth Baseball School, but he was honored for his achievements with an induction into the Northern Neck Sports Wall of Fame in 2001. He was a retired Exxon executive, and the oldest volunteer of the Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department carnival. At the time of his death, he was the oldest member of the Kilmarnock Baptist Church, a member of American Legion Post 86, and active in many organizations in the area. Funeral services will be held 11a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Kilmarnock Baptist Church, Kilmarnock, Va. with interment in the Historic Christ Church Burying Grounds, Weems, Va. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at Currie Funeral Home and on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Kilmarnock Baptist Church, one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kilmarnock Baptist Church, P.O. Box 99, Kilmarnock, VA. 22482.
