Mrs. Mills received her formal education in Bledsoe County. She has earned two degrees from Tennessee Technological University, B.A. in Elementary Education and a M.A. in Elementary Counseling and Guidance. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.D. Mills Jr.; son, Allen Mills; parents, William and Iantha Simmons; two brothers, Charles and Garlen Simmons; two sisters, Clara Mooneyham and Vera Wallace. Funeral services will be held Monday 6:00 p.m. CDT at Wheeler Hill church of Christ with Minister Dale Barger officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Hill Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Crest Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville. Family will receive friends Monday 4:00-6:00 p.m. CDT at the church.
