Description	:	10/05/1933 - Willis C Nusbaum, 59, expert tax law attorney and former special counsel for the state tax board, died Sunday at his home in Indianapolis of blood poisoning which developed from a foot infection a week previously. Native of Middlebury, survived by widow and thre sons and two brothers - Otto of Fort Wayne and Winfield of Monticello. He was born in Middlebury, 16 Feb 1874. Native of Middlebury, survived by widow and thre sons and two brothers - Otto of Fort Wayne and Winfield of Monticello. He was born in Middlebury, 16 Feb 1874. He graduated from Middlebury High School and then studied law in his father's office and later in the office of Francis Baker of Goshen. He was a deputy in Elkhart Co clerk's office for a number of years. He had written many of the states tax laws during the last decade. After the death of his mother, Mrs John W. NUSBAUM, he left Elkhart where his family lived. His father, John W NUSBAUM, was a lawyer and political advisor of Col C G Conn, then congressman from old 13th district, completed the musical training of the four younger brothers and sisters of Willis that had begun by their mother, and the quartet gained wide celebrity as "The Hoosier Nightingales". They had a part in the formal exercises on Indiana day at the Columbian exposition. Willis returned to Elkhart Co. and married Miss Maude CONGDON of Bristol. The sister, Mrs Rose CHALMERS has often returned to Elkhart Co to visit old friends. The other sister, Mrs Dora EASH, spends a part of each summer at Shipshewana lake. Mr. NUSBAUM was in Elkhart two weeks ago conferring with county officials in regard to various phases of the tax situation. Funeral services held at Indianapolis Tuesday morning with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. NOTE: This is the great-grandson of Elizabeth (PLETCHER) NUSBAUM.
