Description	:	Willis E. Caton was born on 02 Jul 1858 in Lenawee Co, MI. His parents, Mortimer W Caton & Rachel J Green, had married there on 24 Dec 1857. Willis Caton's father, Pvt Mortimer Caton, served in the Union Army during the Civil War, enlisting in Co D of the 2nd MI Volunteer Infantry. He died of disease at Camp Lyon, VA in Oct of 1861. In the US Census of 1870, Rachel was living in in Seneca Twp, Lenawee Co, MI with her son Willie Caton, her nephew Vernon Bailey, and her niece Martha Clark. Rachel eventually... Read More	Willis E. In the US Census of 1870, Rachel was living in in Seneca Twp, Lenawee Co, MI with her son Willie Caton, her nephew Vernon Bailey, and her niece Martha Clark. Rachel eventually married Willis Bailey – her sister Mary Jane Green’s widower - on Sep of 1872. Rachel (Green) Caton / Bailey's death year and place are unknown, but she living in Gratiot Co, MI in the US Census of 1880, with 2nd husband Willis Bailey. The obit for Rachel's mother Rosanna Green who died in 1883 indicates that she was survived only by her son Ezra. Rachel had presumably died in the interim between 1880-1883 - probably in Gratiot Co, MI. Willis Bailey was a widower by the MI State Census of 1894, when he was living in Lowell, Kent Co, MI with his son Ernest. Willis E. Caton died in Aberdeen, Grays Harbor, WA on 25 May 1934.
