Description	:	Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home and at 3:30 at the Methodist church for Willis McQuigg, who passed away at his home Thursday noon. He had suffered several sicknesses during the past year but until six weeks ago was able to be about. Pneumonia developed Wednesday evening and he passed away the following day. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. W.H. Lease. Favorite hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Corderman, Mrs. Russell Pattison, Walter Mohler, accompanied by Mrs. L.J. Bennett and Joseph Huelman as bearers. Willis Edgar McQuigg, eldest son of James D. and Hester Ann McQuigg was born Feb 16, 1880, and passed quietly away at his home at 11:30 Thursday morning Dec 10, 1942, aged 62 years, 9 months, and 24 days. His entire life was spent in this community. On March 10, 1909, he was united in marriage to Grace Bettin and to this union five children were born: namely, Everett Willis, who is in the U.S. Army and is stationed in Hawaii; James Lester, who is an aviation machinist's mate stationed at Key West, Fla.; Clifford Leonard and Betty Ruth at home and Glenn Irvin, who is an aviation machinist's mate stationed at Jacksonville, Fla. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, five children, on daughter-in-law, Mavis Ann, wife of Glenn, and three brothers and one sister, Henry of Sioux City, Paul of Long Beach, Cal., F.W. of Schaller and Mrs. Lillian Selwold of Schaller. One sister, Martha Bennett passed away in 1911 and a brother in infancy. Among those to attend the services from out of town were: Lester McQuigg of Key West, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn McQuigg of Jacksonville, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Walden of Sioux City, Mrs. Will Monsees, Mrs. Elmer Leao, both of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Will Bennett, West Bend, Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Zemke of Sioux Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. George Quirk of Storm Lake, Mr. and Mrs. William Young, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Young of Galva. Taken from the Storm Lake Pilot Tribune 17 Dec 1942
