Born November 8, 1930, on his farm in Oakland, he was the son of the late Garrett Chester and Lila Ona (Harvey) Dixon. He was also preceded in death by a son, Roger A. Dixon; daughter, Diana L. Born November 8, 1930, on his farm in Oakland, he was the son of the late Garrett Chester and Lila Ona (Harvey) Dixon. He was also preceded in death by a son, Roger A. Dixon; daughter, Diana L. Grubb; one brother, Chester Dixon; two sons-in-law, Kenneth Cummings and James Grubb; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Dixon. Willis was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren. Willis made maple syrup and was an accomplished mechanic and welder. He enjoyed putting together Bolsa wood planes and loved his Holstein cows. Willis liked all animals and they liked him. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Dixon; two sons, Steve C. Dixon and wife, Valerie, Oakland; James W. Dixon and wife, Judy, Oakland; five daughters, Terry L. Cummings, Oakland; Kathy D. Ferrell and husband, David, Bridgeport, WV; Barbara A. Lipscomb and husband, George, Aurora, WV; Donna J. Bailey, Aurora; Mary A. Seymour and husband, Ike, Des Moines, IA; one brother, Harvey "Tim" Dixon, Elk Ridge, MD; twenty grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD, 21550, Wednesday from 5-8pm. Services will be conducted at Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1101 Fairview Church Road, Oakland, MD, 21550, Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Samuel Moon and Pastor Phillip Marcum officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
