Description	:	Willis "Willy" Wehenkel was born March 16, 1931, in West Point, NE., the only child born to William and Elsie (Bleyhe) Wehenkel, and passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at his home near Milford, NE. As a young boy, Willy attended West Point (NE.) Public Schools, graduating in 1948. Read More	Willis "Willy" Wehenkel was born March 16, 1931, in West Point, NE., the only child born to William and Elsie (Bleyhe) Wehenkel, and passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at his home near Milford, NE. As a young boy, Willy attended West Point (NE.) Public Schools, graduating in 1948. He was united in marriage to Catherine Recker on February 10, 1950 in West Point, NE. and to this union five children were born: Gary, Dale, Ron, James and Mary. Early on, Willy farmed and later became a West Point (NE.) Police officer. He trained and later served as a Nebraska State Patrolman for 11 years. After 30 years in law enforcement, Willy owned and operated Willy's Bar in Milford, NE. During his retirement, Willy enjoyed spending his winters golfing in Texas and returning to Nebraska each spring to garden and visit family and friends. Willy was very personable and enjoyed socializing with others and was an avid Nebraska football fan. Survivors are: children and spouses; Gary Wehenkel, Omaha, NE., Dale and Audrey Wehenkel, Milford, NE., Ron and Lori Wehenkel, Fremont, NE., James and Mary Wehenkel, Auburn, NE. and Mary Eggeling, Kansas City, MO.; 10 grandchildren, Michelle Wehenkel, Omaha, NE., Mike Wehenkel, Chicago, IL., Jenny (Matt) Roth, Milford, NE., Tim Smith, also of Milford, NE., Stacy (Scott) Walker, Founex, Switzerland, Travis Wehenkel, Minot, N.D., Shawn (Samantha) Wehenkel and Brandon (Leah) Wehenkel, both of Auburn, NE., Jamie (Adrian) Lewandowski, Loup City, NE., Jessica (Deke) Grauerholz, Memphis, NE.; 20 great-grandchildren; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and a host of relatives and friends. Willy was preceded in death by: parents; wife, Catherine Wehenkel in 1991 and Companion, Olinda Meyer in 2012. Inurnment was in the St Michaels Cemetery, West Point, NE.
