Description	:	Willmeta H. (Pfaffle) Crofoot March 18, 1915 ~ March 22, 2012 Willmeta was born March 18, 1915, at a home near Touchet, WA to William T. Pfaffle and Hazel (Krumbah) Pfaffle, the second born of twins that were delivered by their maternal grandmother, Sarah "Ma" Krumbah. They lived near Walla Walla, WA until 1927, when the family moved to Keller, WA, where they had purchased a ranch. (Pfaffle) Crofoot March 18, 1915 ~ March 22, 2012 Willmeta was born March 18, 1915, at a home near Touchet, WA to William T. Pfaffle and Hazel (Krumbah) Pfaffle, the second born of twins that were delivered by their maternal grandmother, Sarah "Ma" Krumbah. They lived near Walla Walla, WA until 1927, when the family moved to Keller, WA, where they had purchased a ranch. Her father and twin brother drove their cattle to Keller, while her mother drive with the girls, Willmeta, Lavon and Janice. Willmeta attended school in Keller through the eighth grade and then attended Walla Walla High School, coming home during the summers. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1933. She then moved back to Keller and on January 25, 1936, she married Lawrence A. Crofoot in a double ring ceremony with her twin brother and Donna Peterson. She and Lawrence lived at Bridge Creek (near Keller) and worked summers on the Gold Mountain look out. In 1939, they moved to Tum Water Basin, on the south half of the reservation, to begin farming. In 1942, they moved to the Crofoot ranch, near Duley Lake. She worked in the wheat harvest and helped with feeding and raising their cattle, along with raising four children. Willmeta was a 4-H leader for many years, taking club members to Lost Lake camp, the county fair and other activities. In 1986, she and Lawrence celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They moved to Monse in 1955, and lived there until she entered Harmony House in Brewster in 2001. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Dagnon of Malott; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; sons, William and Earl; her parents, William and Hazel Pfaffle; two sisters, Lavon Coffman and Janice Norgren; and her twin brother, Willard. Services will be held at Barnes Chapel in Brewster on Monday, March 26, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with Burial at the Monse Cemetery, with dinner to follow at the Brewster American Legion. Barnes Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
