Description	:	Wilma Adaline (Huennekens) Schmidt, age 88, of Yankton, passed away early Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton, S.D. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton, S.D., with the Rev. John Fischer officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yankton. Pallbearers will be Brad Schmidt, Scott Trantina, Jay Trantina, Zane Williams, Doug Dailey and Joe Delvaux.Visitations will be 1-9 p.m. Thursday at the Kostel Funeral Home, Yankton, with a rosary at 7 p.m. followed by a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. She was born... She grew up on a farm in the Beaver Creek area and went to school at Beaver Creek through the 10th grade. She married Clarence Schmidt on May 23, 1933, at Immaculate Conception Church, Beaver Creek, Neb. They were the last couple to be married in that church. They lived on a farm in the Midway/Irene area until 1970 before moving to Yankton. She worked at Dr. Morman's Dental office for about 15 years, at Gurney Seed and Nursery and at Kochi Motel for about seven years. She is survived by her husband, Clarence, Yankton; three daughters: Phyllis Trantina, Sioux Falls; Mary Kay (George) Wilcox, Keystone Heights, Fla.; Cheryl (Robert) Slowey, Yankton; one son, Robert (Pat) Schmidt, Irene; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Frances (Bernard) Boyle, Henry, Ill.; and one brother, Kenneth Huennekens, Portland, Ore. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter; five brothers: Lawrence, Joseph, Floyd, Irvin and Ralph; and one grandchild, Kelly Trantina.
