Description	:	Wilma A. Schlensig, 74, of Dunlap died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center. Wilma was born April 19, 1927 in Monona County to parents Arthur C. and Lena (Waderich) Kroll. She attended country school in the Soldier area. On February 25, 1948, she married Roger D. Schlensig in Denison. The couple farmed in the Charter Oak and Dunlap area. While Roger was in the service they lived in Alaska from the spring of 1953 to the spring of 1954. Schlensig, 74, of Dunlap died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center. Wilma was born April 19, 1927 in Monona County to parents Arthur C. and Lena (Waderich) Kroll. She attended country school in the Soldier area. On February 25, 1948, she married Roger D. Schlensig in Denison. The couple farmed in the Charter Oak and Dunlap area. While Roger was in the service they lived in Alaska from the spring of 1953 to the spring of 1954. The couple returned to the Dunlap area where they farmed. Roger died on June 7, 1998. Wilma was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, active in the WELCA, a member of the Stitch & Sew Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing and gardening. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Roger; sister, Evelyn Wadsworth and brothers, Clarence and Henry Kroll. Survivors include one son, Larry and Lucy Schlensig of Shelby; one daughter, Linda and Kenny Hicks of Dunlap; two grandchildren, Eric Hicks and Dakota Schlensig; two brothers, Wilber and Ruby Kroll of Altoona and Loren Kroll of Dow City and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, May 4, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Dunlap with Pastor Walt Behrens officiating. Musician was Lauri Boysen and vocalist, Jerry Baldwin, sang "Thy Holy Wings." Interment was made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap. Honorary pallbearers were John Kroll and Rick Kroll. Pallbearers were Charlie Gorden, Karl Heiman, Ron Kroll, Tom Kroll, Elmer Melby, Bill Wadsworth. Fouts Funeral Home of Dunlap/Woodbine was in charge of arrangements.
