Her late husband, Harold W. Glenn, predeceased her ten years ago after 62 years of marriage. Wilma Glenn was born in Moreland, Indiana, on December 9, 1920. As the daughter of a pastor, Wilma moved quite often in her early years, living in Kentucky, West Virginia and briefly in Iowa. She later graduated from George Peabody College, Nashville, Tennessee, previously attending Trevecca Nazarene College there in Nashville. She married Harold W. Glenn in 1941 and immediately moved to Atlanta, Georgia. In 1958, they moved to Jacksonville, where they resided in Arlington for many years. She was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene here in Jacksonville, serving the church in many capacities. She was a long-time children s worker, served as missionary president of the local missions chapter and often served as pianist, vocal soloist and choir member. Her years of service were marked by a steadfast faithfulness and devotion to the church. She was loved by all. Although a college graduate, she chose the role of homemaker and stay-at-home mother, never seeking employment outside of the home. Holidays, birthdays and other special family times were always graced by her delicious meals and her warm, loving care. She was a tender caregiver for over ten years to her husband during his time of extended illness. Her funeral service will be held at Central Church of the Nazarene, 2130 University Blvd. N., Jacksonville, FL., at 11:00am, Tuesday, January 21, 2014 with Reverend David Maxwell officiating. The family will receive friends at a brief viewing at the church one hour prior to the beginning of the service. Internment is scheduled at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, immediately following the service. Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com.
