She was born in Emmett, Kan., on Sept. 30,1921, the daughter of Lewis W. and Martha Clark Brown. She attended school in Emmett, Kan., and worked at the Clinton Garment Factory for 35 years, retiring in 1983. She married Clarence W. Dirks in Clinton on March 6,1948.... Wilma was a past President of Amvets Auxiliary Post 28, Department of Iowa Amvets Auxiliary and the Clinton Garment Union. She was also a member of the Ruth Circle of the Lutheran Church of Atonement in Clinton and the Altar Guild of the church. She is survived by her husband; one son, Robert L. Dirks of Clinton; one sister, Juanita Scriven of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three brothers, Lewis Brown and Donald Brown, both of Clinton, and Duane George of Lanark. She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter in infancy. Casketbearers, members of the Amvets Post 28, were Orvin Schoville, Ed Bryden, Vernon Smith, Milan Gabel, Harvey Sullivan and Ray Asmus.
